About the Artwork:

Reality (2025) unfolds as a quiet yet resolute meditation on presence and perception. A dense, circular form hovers within a luminous field of pale blues and softened whites, its surface woven from layered lines, abrasion, and translucent material.

The composition balances weight and suspension, grounding the central form while allowing it to remain unresolved.

Donchev’s mixed technique reveals a process of accumulation and erasure, where gesture is embedded rather than declared. Subtle tonal shifts and horizontal traces suggest a horizon—an anchor between the tangible and the intangible.

Reality resists fixed interpretation, inviting the viewer into a contemplative space where material, memory, and perception intersect. The work stands as a refined expression of Donchev’s abstract language, restrained, atmospheric, and quietly authoritative.
