The Asparagus and Artichokes etching belongs to Oksana Stratiychuk’s Zen Still Life series. Within this black-and-white series, saturated with the idea of mindfulness towards the mundane life, ordinary vegetables and fruits are transformed into extraordinary objects for contemplation and exploration. The artist delicately etches along each artichoke leaf, lovingly traces the graceful curves of an asparagus spear, meticulously reproduces every chestnut spike with remarkable graphic precision, and invites the viewer to follow these movements to be captured by the sheer marvel of the everyday. After all, the wonder of life lies not so much in surrounding oneself with the extraordinary things as in starting to see the amazing in the ordinary. Attention is the tool that turns everything into a miracle.
