The artist’s fascination with biblical narratives dates back to the early stages of Larisa’s career as an artist, during her academic painting endeavors. Influenced profoundly by the masterpieces of old masters from the Proto-Renaissance, Renaissance, and Classicism eras, the artist found inspiration not only in the choice of themes but also in the selection of mediums and materials for their artistic creations.

Following a significant shift in her artistic direction, transitioning from realism to abstract art, Larisa’s work often explores the delicate balance between the real and the unreal, the past and the present, the decorative and the exquisite, and the three-dimensional and the two-dimensional.

The piece Adam and Eve, inspired by the age-old story, captivates the artist’s attention with the supernatural act of human creation it portrays. The biblical account of God forming Adam from clay and subsequently creating Eve from his rib, the closest part to a person’s heart, resonates deeply: “And the man said: This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman because she was taken out of Man.”
